OUR APPROACH

Our approach involves several key components:

  1. Demystifying Safeguarding: We aim to simplify and clarify the concept of safeguarding, ensuring that organisations understand their responsibilities and can implement effective measures strategically and operationally.
  2. Quality Training: SO Training and Consulting provides training that is specifically tailored to the client’s industry context. By using real-world scenarios and drawing from our extensive experience, we ensure that the training is relatable and impactful for participants.
  3. Ensuring Safe Services: Our work extends beyond training. We actively engage with organisations to ensure that the services they provide are safe. This involves providing consultancy that includes auditing, safeguarding supervision, project management, as well as bespoke advice and guidance.
  4. Confident and Competent Staff: By working closely with organisations, we help build staff confidence and competence, which in turn leads to better service delivery and overall safety.

In summary, SO Training and Consulting plays a crucial role in enhancing organisational practices, safeguarding, and service quality.

One key aspect that sets us apart is...

As well as having extensive professional experience working with children, adults, and families that have experienced trauma and adversity, Sally has personal lived experience of safeguarding issues and the harm they can cause. Having experienced both positive and challenging safeguarding provision, we understand the lasting impact they can have on individuals and organizations.

We harness this professional and personal lived experience to work collaboratively with organisations and their most important asset, their people, to get safeguarding right for everyone. We empower staff and volunteers to leave a positive legacy on those they work with and deliver services to who may be experiencing the most challenging time in their lives.

ABOUT SALLY

Sally has an extensive and varied background that has seen her evolve her understanding of people, behaviours, abuse, and trauma over more than two decades.  For over a decade Sally took on challenging roles within criminal justice including being a prison officer and working within the youth offending service, probation and drug and alcohol field as well as a prison resettlement role which all provided valuable insights into the complexity of criminal behaviours and links to past trauma. She developed this experience within the housing sector managing homeless hostels for young people and working the housing charity Shelter.

“Sally made the training enjoyable and interesting - by far the best safeguarding training I've ever received which made a difference to how much information I was able to digest!”
