Introduction to Safeguarding (Level 1)

Course Content:

  • What is safeguarding?
  • Identify the types of abuse
  • Recognise the signs and indicators of abuse
  • Discuss how to respond appropriately to a safeguarding concern
  • Be aware of the process of reporting safeguarding concerns to within your organisation
  • Explore best practice in recording safeguarding concerns

 

Who is the course for?

This course is designed for anyone who are working with children, young people or adults as part or paid or voluntary role.  You do not need any previous safeguarding knowledge as this course provides a firm foundation.

Safeguarding for Practitioners (Level 2)

Course Content:

  • Safeguarding – the legal framework and statutory duty
  • An introduction to trauma-informed practice
  • Understanding practitioner roles and responsibilities
  • How do we create consistency – exploration of values
  • Recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns
  • Barriers to reporting safeguarding concerns
  • Exploring recording best practice
  • Case studies and reflective practice

 

Who is the course for?

This course is designed for practitioners who work directly with children, young people or adults and require a more in-depth knowledge of safeguarding to effectively undertake their role.  Having previously completed a level one course is advantageous.

Safeguarding Practice for DSL's & Managers (Level 3)

Course Content:

  • Exploration of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance relevant to your sector/geographical location
  • Trauma-informed leadership
  • Understanding roles and responsibilities of key safeguarding stakeholders
  • The process of managing a safeguarding concern
  • Local Authority referral and escalation processes
  • Case studies and reflection practice

 

Who is the course for?

The course is designed for Designated Safeguarding Lead/officers and their deputies to understand their operational duties, or any practitioner or manager that would benefit from a more in-depth knowledge of safeguarding.

Advanced Safeguarding for DSL’s & Managers (Level 4)

Course Content:

  • Exploration of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance relevant to your sector/geographical location
  • Trauma-informed leadership
  • Understanding roles and responsibilities of key safeguarding stakeholders
  • The process of managing a safeguarding concern

Strategic Safeguarding Workshop for Managers & Leaders

Workshop Content

This is a developmental workshop for those in leadership and management positions to work together to develop their collective understanding of their organisational safeguarding.

The organisation will provide a brief, supported by the consultant/facilitator, describing what they would like to achieve or topics they would like to explore in their workshop time.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is designed to bring together leaders and managers from across an organisation to focus on a specific area of safeguarding or topic to develop knowledge, understanding and strive towards a common goal.

Any practitioner or manager who is part of the recruitment process for staff and/or volunteers.

Professional Boundaries

This course is designed for all, to enable practitioners to recognise why upholding professional boundaries is important, how to maintain their own professional boundaries and to enable them to support their colleagues to do the same.
